Karolina Żądło (born 1999 in Kasinka Mała) studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, where she graduated with honours in 2024 with the project “I am not transparent”.

In her work, Żądło engages in a critical dialogue with the traditional image of women. Drawing from the aesthetics of the past, she creates works that carry traces of past epochs and, at the same time, open up a space for conversation about contemporary issues regarding gender and identity.

Referring to tradition is not only an act of reconstructing the past, but also a critical tool for deconstructing established patterns.

Żądło’s works have been shown at Zachęta - National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, Galeria Prześwit in Warsaw, Otwarta Pracownia in Kraków, Van Rij Gallery in Kraków, Her Clique Gallery in Lisbon, and Wallspace Gallery in Warsaw.
